Block printing is a method of printing textiles by stamping ink-dipped blocks—usually made from wood. Wood blocks are mainly printing tools. They are carved with intricate designs and then used to print the fabric. This printing technique was patronized by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II ( 1699-1743) in Jaipur.
